Jioaining Pocket Go])lier. 'I'lio type locality is Espailola.^ Gopher mounds are abundant at El Kito de los Frijoles, but we obtained no specimens of the gopher for identification. They may be this species, which was described from a locality not far away. The Indians accurately described the habits of the animal m digging its holes, puslinig the earth out to form a mound, and then covering the entrance with earth by working from within. ? Keported at Chama by Bailey.® A good Ime of traps repeatedly set in all sorts of places at El Kito de los Frijoles faile(l to catch any voles or indeed any of the mam- mals smaller than chipmunks excej)t deer-mice. •( Fiber zibethicus osoyoosensis Lord. Muskrat. Keported at Kinconada (north of Santa Fe), by 1 lollister,® who also records F. z. pallidus Mearns at Albucjuerque. Pini’i ? Neotoma albigula \ lsiTt\ej. White-throated Wood Kat. Kejiorted at Abiquiu, Chama Canyon, Espanola, San Pedro, Santa Clara Canyon, Kinconado, etc., by Goldman.^ Both whites and Indians described a bluish-gray, round-tailed rat which gathers pinon nuts for winter food at El Kito de los Frijoles, and we saw one nest winch seemed to be that of a wood rat.
