What you’ll do

Join Caroline Butten from our library team in an interactive workshop designed to help you explore our collections and inspire your own research projects.

In this hour-long session, you’ll receive a general introduction to historical handwriting, followed by an opportunity to decipher an extract from a historical recipe book.

You’ll also learn about practical aspects of working with the collection, including finding and ordering items using our online catalogue.

We will have original material on display, so we ask that you leave your pens, coats, bags and other personal belongings in the cloakroom on the ground floor.

Who can come

This workshop is open to all levels and backgrounds but will be especially suited to those who are new to Wellcome Collection and/or at the beginning of their research journey.
