What you’ll do

Join library assistant Katie Hanlon in a creative writing workshop inspired by items from our collections. You’ll be looking at a selection of fantastical historical accounts on subjects such as witchcraft, religious conversions and various criminal activities.

You’ll participate in several activities, such as word games and readings, to help you think about the nature of truth and how to tell a convincing story. You’ll then have a chance to write your own account inspired by the items you’ve examined.

The workshop is open to all levels, from beginners who want a place to start to more experienced writers who may be looking for a spark for their next piece.
