Join us in the Reading Room for a playful conversation about what work means to you with practical philosopher Ayisha De Lanerolle and curator Cindy Sissokho.
You’re invited to share your thoughts and feelings ahead of our upcoming exhibition, ‘Hard Graft: Work, Health and Rights’, which will explore experiences of physical work and its impacts on health and the body.

We’ll be in the Reading Room on level 2. You can walk up the spiral staircase to the Reading Room door, or take the lift up and then head left from the Library Desk.

About your facilitators
Ayisha De Lanerolle
Ayisha is a practical philosopher working within the arts. She set up The Conversation Agency to focus on creating conversations that build connections and community. Ayisha has held residencies with Turner Contemporary Margate, Turner Prize 2019, and Mansions of the Future, Lincoln. During the pandemic Ayisha worked with cultural institutions to reflect on how their collections connect us to issues of decolonisation and social justice. Currently Ayisha is working with Aberystwyth Arts Centre on their engagement strategy, and she is exploring the relationship between storytelling and narrative on a year-long programme, Building Our Narrative Power, with Public Interest Research Centre.
Cindy Sissokho
Cindy Sissokho is a curator, cultural producer and writer, and curator of the ‘Hard Graft: Work, Health and Rights’ exhibition for Wellcome Collection. She recently co-curated the French Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2024, represented by the artist Julien Creuzet. Before working at Wellcome Collection, Cindy was at New Art Exchange and Nottingham Contemporary, and worked on numerous UK and international exhibitions and projects.
