What you’ll do

Join us for an evening with comic artist Chuck Mullin, author of ‘Bird Brain’, on how she uses comics to explore her relationship with her mental health, and the role comics play in opening up discussions about wellbeing.

Talking to Chuck will be Rowan Frewin. They are a freelance comic artist and part of Wellcome Collection’s Library team.

This talk will be followed by a Q&A.

Location

We’ll be in the Viewing Room. It’s next to the Library entrance on level 2, which you can reach by taking the lift or the stairs.

Waiting list

If this event is fully booked, you may still be able to attend. We will operate a waiting list, which opens 30 minutes before this event starts. Arrive early, and we’ll give you a numbered ticket. If there are any unfilled places just before the start time, we will invite you to enter in order of ticket number.

Rowan Frewin

Rowan Frewin is part of Wellcome Collection’s Library team, as well as being a freelance comic artist and illustrator. Their work often explores their experiences as a non-binary trans person.

Chuck Mullin

(she/her)

Chuck Mullin is a comic artist and illustrator whose work explores her experiences with mental health, specifically anxiety and depression. Her debut book ‘Bird Brain’ (2019) uses short comics about pigeons as a way to confront her relationship with her mental health. She was awarded Digital Champion at the 2018 Mind Media Awards.
