The Hub is Wellcome’s dedicated space for transdisciplinary research on the fifth floor of Wellcome Collection.

We support the creation of new knowledge by bringing together people from different backgrounds, such as academia, advocacy, clinical practice and the arts, to explore specific questions about human health.

We do this through convening, programming and funding – primarily through The Hub Award, which has been running for over 10 years. The Hub Award is a £2m-funded, three-year residency. It is granted to a collaborative research group that is using transdisciplinary methods to address Wellcome’s mission to solve urgent health challenges facing everyone.

Hub Award grant holders benefit from unique access to resources in Wellcome Collection and teams across Wellcome.

The next round of funding for The Hub Award opens in Autumn 2025.

If you want to hear about the next Hub Award grant call, please register your interest by emailing us with the subject line ‘Hub Award 2025’.
