MS.7428/1: Thomas D. Müller (fl. 19th century), Philadelphia professor of surgery, 19th century. 1 signature.

MS.7428/2: John Strong Newberry (1822-1892), geologist and paleontologist, 1874. 1 autograph letter, signed, to the English paleontologist Thomas Pallister Parkas (1819-1891), discussing the Carboniferous fossils of Ohio.

MS.7428/3: Simon Newcomb (1835-1909), astronomer, c.1866. Autograph review by Newcomb of Taxation: Its Levy and Expenditure by the contractor and politician Sir Samuel Morton Peto (1809-1889).

MS.7428/4: William Fisher Norris (1839-1901), Philadelphia ophthamologist, 1880. 1 autograph letter, signed, to his fellow ophthamologist Wilhelm Stricker (1816-1891), concerning the launching of the Index Medicus.

MS.7428/5: Joseph Everett Nourse (1819- ), professor at the Maritime Observatory of the United States, 1877. 1 autograph letter, signed, concerning his election to the Société de Géographie Commerciale de Paris. Nourse was the editor of a narrative by the Arctic explorer Charles Francis Hall (1821-1871).

MS.7428/6: Thomas Nuttall (1786-1859), English-born naturalist, 1831. 1 autograph letter, signed, to his mother and sisters in Yorkshire, concerning his career.

MS.7428/7: Louis François de Pourtalès (1823-1880), zoologist of Swiss origin, 1852. 1 autograph letter, signed, to the astronomer William Cranch Bond (1789-1859), concerning Morse telegraph links, and congratulating Bond's son George Phillips Bond (1825-1865) on his discovery of Saturn's satellite Hyperion.
