About this work

Description

The visit took place in March 1855 at the Brompton Hospital, Chatham, where Barrett made sketches of the scene. Queen Victoria was accompanied by the Prince Consort and their two eldest sons, the Prince of Wales and Prince Alfred (later Duke of Edinburgh)
