Plan and elevation of the Royal Hospital of Bethlem, London. ; for the reception of two hundred poor lunatics, the Hospital was founded by King Henry the 8th. Hardwick was appointed architect to Bethlem Hopital in 1816. The previous incumbent, James Lewis resigned in 1817 due to ill-health. This print may represent Hardwick's first survey of Lewis's newly built structure
