About this work
Description
Reviews Darwin's theory of evolution and explains the revised version - "punctuated equilibrium" - which allows for new species to exist for millions of years alongside the existing one, which may later be wiped out. The Fossil Record, hitherto the main source of reference, does not display this overlap. But the question of how life began is still unanswered.
