Segment 1 The intertitles advise that blood specimens are best taken with a syringe. A fully-equipped trolley is displayed. The intertitles note that the patient should be lying down. A tourniquet is placed on the patient's arm and the area is cleaned. The vein is palpated. The intertitles give instructions on how to hold the patient's arm and the syringe, and the syringe is inserted and blood is drawn.
