Büchlin des Kaiser-Rechts and Pseudo-Aristoteles, Secreta Secretorum

Secreta secretorum, preceded by an incomplete 'Büchlin des Kaiser-Rechts'. Written in a neat German script by the same hand throughout, the first work 20-24 lines to a page, the second 29-31 lines. Capitals, paragraph marks and headings in red, or underlined in red. Written on the inside of the wooden covers are versus (?) in Greek in three columns, unidentified and illegible.

Late 15th Century

1 volume 12 ll. + ff. 25-117 + 5 bl. ll. + 69 ll. + 4 bl. ll. 4to. 22 x 15 1/2 cm. Original leather binding over wooden boards, greatly worn: with five brass boses on the outside of each cover, the central one on the upper cover wanting, as also is the single metal clasp. A title-page and the first 24 ff. of the text of the first work are missing. A small hole in the text of the first 14 ll.
