    A.D. 1853 .N° 2819. Chemical Compounds for the Cure of Scorbutic and other Affections. LETTERS PATENT to Charles William Hockaday, of Port Hall, Brighton, in the County of Sussex, Gentleman, for the Invention of “Certain Chemical Compound or Compounds, applicable as a Remedy or Remedies for Scorbutic and other Affections of the Human Body.” Sealed the 18th January 1854, and dated the 5th December 1853. COMPLETE SPECIFICATION filed by the said Charles William Hockaday at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition and Declaration, on the 5th December 1853, pursuant to the 9th section of the Patent Law Amendment Act, 1852. 5 TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I, Charles William Hockaday, of Port Hall, Brighton, send greeting.
