[by] a mild but continuous electric current ... gout ... sciatica, lumbago, tic-douloureux, hemorrhoides, spasm, congestion of the blood to head, chest and heart, female complaints, hysteria, liver complaints, paralytic and epileptic affections, &c. .. are cured ... by a continuous action of the chain on the body ... The chain decomposes unacidulated water and precipitates metals from their solutions". It includes two illustrations of it.
