In Sanitary Exhibitions it is, of course, impossible to excercise effective discrimination as to the admission of Exhibits which may be really anything but sanitary in their nature. A similar catholicity of acceptance would seem to characterise certain Sanitary works. The Author of the present volume has adopted a different principle of action, and has stipulated with the Publisher that no advertisement whatever should be admitted without his express sanction. He does not, of course, by this mean necessarily always to endorse the Advertisers' natural enthusiasm with regard to their own inventions, but has taken care to exclude any appliance not worthy of consideration.
