![PRECAUTIONS TAKEN TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES. As a result of my recommendation in my 1905 Eeport, notification of the occurence of infectious disease is now made to the Health Department, 14, High Street, and, if the case is a suitable one for removal to Hospital, a request for immediate removal is at once tele]3honed to that Institution. We have found that this is a far better arrangement than allowing cases to be notified by the doctor in attendance directly to the Hospital. We have, in several instances, been able to prevent the admittance of unsuitable cases into the Hospital, and also have obtained information of other diseases existing in the houses which has been of service to the Hospital Authorities. Any urgent cases occuring out ot office hours are telephoned either to my house or the Hospital. Immediately the information is obtained by the Sanitary Department, the house is visited, and if the case be not removed to the Isolation Hospital, steps are at once taken to ensure proper isolation at home. Intimation is given to the Head Master of the Schools attended by members of the infected household](https://iiif.wellcomecollection.org/image/b30239941_0052.jp2/full/800%2C/0/default.jpg)
