Description

Photomacrograph of an eye from an 8 year old crested gecko (Correlophus ciliatus). This species of gecko originate from New Caledonia and were thought to be extinct in the wild until a small population was discovered in the early 1990s on a small island in the Pacific Ocean. Healthy crested geckos have clear, bright eyes with pupils that react to changes in light. Width of image is 1 cm.
