Jerry Hawthorn and Bob Logic (and Corinthian Tom) are young men about town in Regency London, introduced as fictitious characters by Pierce Egan in Life in London, or, The day and night scenes of Jerry Hawthorn, esq., and his elegant friend, Corinthian Tom, London 1821. The characters shown here are Jerry Hawthorn, Bob Logic (with umbrella) and Sir John Blubber (Corinthian Tom is absent). The water falling on them is called jocularly "water on the brain".
