Segment 1 The male patient's nose is shown to the camera and the absence of cartilage is pointed out. The doctor presses on the tip of the nose to show how soft it is. The patient is anaesthetised. The chest is incised in order to remove some rib cartilage. The rib cartilage is removed, with intertitles explaining the steps of the procedure. Segment 3 The lip blood vessels are clipped. A hook is placed into the detached columella (end of the nasal septum). The septum is dissected. Segment 4 Blood is sucked away from the wound. The columella is sutured. The nose is completed and the doctor pushes the tip of the nose as at the beginning of the operation, to show that the nose is now a normal hardness. The operation finishes.
