L'ira è lodovole quando giuesta è la cagione. Plinio The Italian phrase contradicts the Latin sentence of Pliny the younger which it purports to paraphrase, Epistulae, lib IX, no. 21 ("tunc praecipua mansuetudinis laus, cum irae causa iustissima est")
