Description
This programme looks at the unveiling of Marc Quinn's sculpture in Trafalgar Square of a naked, heavily pregnant and disabled woman. It is entitled 'Alison Lapper Pregnant'. Alan Yentob presents the programme and explores the careers of both Quinn and Lapper. Archive footage of Lapper as a baby being fitted for artificial limbs is shown as is footage of her son's birth by caesarian section. Members of the public are also shown responding to this challenging sculpture.
