Notes

Mediscope edited master.
Video Journal of Medicine series of programmes ran for 6 issues from August 1976 to 1977.
A set of the printed journals numbers 1-6 was donated by Michael Essex-Lopresti (as part of his archive: PP/LOP) and are available to view in the library (reference: S8056). Essex-Lopresti funded the transfer of the Phillips VCR half-inch cartridge to VHS tape in 1980 (No. 6).
More detail about how the video and journal series was circulated is outlined in the journals. The audience was designed to be 'all General Practitioners, Clinical Tutors and forward-thinking doctors'. It is described as three years in the making and had 'considerable support from postgraduate centres and their medical council'. It extolls its 'unique editorial style'. The video machines were available to buy or lease and the details are set out in the journal.
