About this work

Description

One of a series of blotters that were sent to general practitioners, chemists and medical professionals by Allen & Hanbury Ltd. with a different product advertised on each one. These seem to have been sent out at least once a month, often twice. They often had attractive, hand-drawn brand name logos, the calendar for that month in an ornate border and sometimes other design elements or illustrations. The idea is that text is printed on one side, leaving the other side blank to soak up excess ink after writing something with a fountain pen. The calendar would be on somebody's desk for all of that month and referred to time after time, the brand name registering subliminally at the same time. This one is printed ingreen on pale green card.
