About this work

Description

Part 2 of a 3 part series, this programme seeks to reconcile Darwin's theory of evolution with religious beliefs, with contributors such as the Reverend Martha Overall of St. Anne's Church, South Bronx, saying that evolution fails to offer an adequate explanation for good. Scientists see this as illogical although recently some evolutionists have been adapting their theory to include things like altruism. Denis Alexander, Immunologist at the Babraham Institute, states that there is nothing he knows that he finds incompatible with God. Scientists involved in creating robots who 'think' for themselves say that with machines, it is the same as in life in that they let life evolve its own solutions. The programme concludes that evolution is the mechanism that can let go of its creation.
