Description
Box file containing items of ephemera in acid free sleeves. Mostly before 1850, they include many newspaper clippings (Dublin Evening Post etc.) from 1736 and 1737 about Baron de Neuhof becoming first king of Corsica and other material about: elections (pleas for votes, with mentions of several London coffee houses), a caricature of Napoleon Bonaparte, a poem on the arrival of Louis 18th at Calais with Mme. d'Angoulème (1814), a plea to King George to aid the Norwich wool trade exports, then suffering from the international situation (1718), a leaflet about the protestant faith and the monarchy, a leaflet about the taking of Malta from the French (1800), flowers as national emblems (1845?), the arraignment of Lord George Gordon (January 1781).
