Lettering

The queen visiting wounded soldiers from the Soudan at Netley, May 16, 1885. Her Majesty was accompanied by Princess Beatrice and Prince Henry of Battenberg. One sufferer, private George Marshall, of the 1st Berkshire Regiment, whose leg had been amputated, particularly attracted the attention of the queen, who went to his bedside, and asked how he was getting on.
