Description
Clark "was elected chamberlain of London on 2 January 1798 ... In 1774 Clark bought the Porch House in Guildford Street, Chertsey, which had been the last home of the poet Abraham Cowley. Clark died there on 16 January 1831 aged ninety-one."-- Oxford dictionary of national biography
