Copy 1. Supplier/Donor: Med. Soc. Lond. Bound with his Commentarii ... De causis plantarum Theophrasti. Crispini, 1566. Bound in 16th century calf, rebacked and gilt tooled, with armorial gilt tooled stamp on both boards of Léonor d'Estampes de Valençay, Abbot of Bourgueil. (Guigard i.274-5 lists three stamps; this is the second.) This book was formerly part of the collection of the Medical Society of London, which was deposited for safekeeping in the Wellcome Library in 1964. It was eventually purchased by the Wellcome Trust in 1984, with assistance from the National Heritage Memorial Fund and other charities.
