About this work

Description

"A compound concentrated extract composed of the sarsaparilla root of the tropics, stillingia, yellow dock, mandrake, and other roots held in high repute for their alterative, diuretic, tonic and curative properties ... with the iode of potassium and iron". It was supposed to cure scrofula, lassitude, debilityand impure blood. The illustration shows Columbus onboard his ship, gesturing to the land and a sign advertising Ayer's Sarsaparilla.
