About this work
Description
The second in a three-part series presented by Michael Mosley. In this part Mosley looks at longevity. Mosley meets Dave Fisher who practises 'calorie restriction' which is supposed to lengthen one's life and Hayley who has progeria, an extreme ageing disease which affects just over 50 children in the world. In New York Dr. Ron believes that injections of growth hormone lengthen life - Mosley tests them out. Surgeon Robert White talks about his work transplanting a monkey's head from one body to another and Dr. Doris Taylor shows Mosley a living functioning heart grown from a rat's heart and stem cells.
