Lectures on the Veterinary Art delivered by Edw[ard] Coleman Esq. in the Medical Theatre at Guy's Hospital. Taken down by John Flint South [1797-1882]. Produced in London.

1 volume 3 bl. ll. + 1 l. + 145 ff. + 7 ll. last 4 bl.. 8vo. 21 x 121/2 cm. Modern vellum binding. Written on the rectos only. Illustrated by 6 contemporary engraved plates of horses. There are additional notes in pencil on the blank versos.

Purchased 1942.

The author was a pupil of J. Hunter and Cline in London in 1789 and qualified in 1791 as surgeon. He was appointed professor at the newly established London Veterinary College in 1793 and later to the Army Veterinary Service which was largely of his creation. [Cf. Smith (Sir F.).
