This recording is of interviews with former colleagues and pupils of pioneering cardiologist, Sir Thomas Lewis. The interviews were conducted by Dr. Arthur Hollman in preparation for his biography on Lewis: 'Sir Thomas Lewis: pioneer cardiologist and clinical scientist', London; New York: Springer, c1996. Hollman, a cardiologist who worked with Lewis in the 1940s, interviews Sir Harold Himsworth 10 October 1974 [continued from the end of reel 2, side 2, part 1] who was associated with Lewis 1933-1945. He then interviews Dr. Arthur Morris [?] [no date given for interview] who worked with Lewis in 1914 at Hammersmith Hospital.

This tape is part of a collection donated to Wellcome Trust by Dr. Arthur Hollman in 2007. The tapes contain oral history interviews conducted by Dr Hollman between 1974 and 1990 with a grant from the Wellcome Trust. The interviews are largely with former colleagues and pupils of Sir Thomas Lewis and two are with Lady Lewis. They provide an invaluable source of first-hand information about Lewis and the medical world during his time, with personal recollections going back as far as 1920.
