By 14th G. 3. c. 59. “ The walls of the “ wards and cells muft be white-wafhed once in “ every year ; and any prifoner feized with any fe diforder, muft be forthwith removed to the « hofpital ward —and in cafe of any putrid or infedious difeafe, the cell, from whence fuch prifoner was taken, fhall be immediately clean- ed and fumigated. XXVIII. Ordered,—That charity boxes fhall be fecurely affixed at the gate of the prifon, for each clafs of prifoners,—which boxes fhall be opened at ftated times, and the amount applied, by the committee for prifon charity. The committee, for this pur- pofe, fhall confift of the Sheriff, the vifiting Juf- tices, the chaplain, and fuch other perfons refi- dent in or near Glocefter, as may be thought pro- per, on further digefting a plan to be propofed to this effed.—Perfons difpofed to contribute to the relief of any clafs of poor prifoners, are earneftly requefted, not to give money to prifoners their. - felves, who beg,—but to put their benefadion into the box, belonging to the fla/s, fuch perlon would wifh to relieve. XXIX.
