The print contains the verse: "Tis a bra' bonny seat, o' my Saul, Sawney cries, I never beheld sic before with my eyes, such a place in aw' Scotland I never could meet, for the high & the low ease themselves in the street."

On the wall is a thistle growing out of an inverted crown (presenting the accusation of the Scots as Jacobites) and the inscription: "Nemo me impune lacessit"
