About this work

Description

This film looks at the unsatisfactory state of perinatal care in the UK, especially in the way the centralised system completely de-personalises women, alienating those mothers who are most at risk and resulting in high rates of mortality and disablement in births. The example is seen, of how a deprived area of Edinburgh has improved birthrate statistics simply through more accessible perinatal care.
