Planchon (1823–1888), French pharmacologist and botanist, Theodoro Peckolt (1822–1912), Brazilian botanist, Richard Spruce (1817–1893), botanist and traveller, Thomas Anderson (1832–1870), botanist at Calcutta, Sir Robert Hermann Schomburgk (1804–1865), British consul at Bangkok, Sir Henry Barkly (1815–1898), governor of Mauritius, Robert Lambert Playfair (1828–1899), author and colonial administrator, Lestock Wilson Stewart (1824–1876), surgeon in Madras, Henry Fletcher Hance (1827–1886), botanist in Hong Kong, Richard Henry Beddome (1830–1911), botanist in India, and George Henry Kendrick Thwaites (1812–1882), botanist in Ceylon.
