28 July, 1928. Signed and sealed Declaration of Trust, William Frederick Stiff to Cooper, McDougall & Robertson Ltd, in respect of "Two fully paid shares of One pound each numbered 3 and 4 of and in the capital of Abdol Limited...." Document stamped "Cancelled".

18 May, 1931. Two letters, between J H Waghorn and J A Hill, of Cooper, McDougall & Robertson Ltd, concerning the existence of a tenancy agreement for the Beltring Factory.

1934. Letters between J H Waghorn and J A Hill, in which Waghorn tenders his resignation as a Director of Abdol Ltd ("Owing to pressure of my personal affairs which have prevented me for some little time past from giving to the Abdol Company the attention which I feel my position as a Director demands").

Subsequent material (1958-65) comprises various items of correspondence relating to shareholding and to meetings, and to the purchase of Abdol Ltd by ICI Ltd.

Correspondence (1964) concerning purchase by Plant Protection Ltd (a subsidiary company of ICI Ltd and a joint venture with CM&R Ltd), beginning with a letter (13 April, 1964) from C L G Wardley, Secretary, to Plant Protection Ltd, which supplies some historical background: "You may know that when Plant Protection was formed in 1937, Coopers transferred to the new company a large number of trade marks, including the 'Abdol' mark. The position was that part of Coopers' horticultural trade had been developed by a company called Abdol Limited, and after the transfer of the trade and trade marks to Plant Protection, Abdol Limited became a non-trading company. Abdol Ltd is still in existence and has an authorised capital of £35,000, of which £29,847 is issued, and is wholly owned by CMR. There is no point in our continuing to hold the registration of the company in this form and as the registration is of some value, we could obviously change the name and use the company registration for some other purposes. It occured to me, however, that in view of the goodwill which might still attach to the name, Plant Protection might be interested in acquiring the Company?"
