Description

Photograph of a drawing of Eleanor Butler and Sarah Ponsonby sat together in their library with various items on the table in front on them, and a cat sat on a chair in the foreground. Well known to their contemporaries, the pair were wealthy Irish women who avoided marriage by moving to North Wales and living together, and were rumoured to be a lesbian couple.
