Reproduction of illustrations showing the evolution of the brain in "fossil" or prehistoric man, including Pithecanthropus erectus, Rhodesian man, Neanderthal man, Australian Aboriginal, modern European. The illustrations were created by Edgar Ashworth Underwood (1899-1980), Director of the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and Library between 1946-1964, for the exhibition Prehistoric Man in Health and Disease held at Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1951.
