Description

Black and white reproduction of a photograph of two men in the bough of a cinchona tree using a pulley possibly to collect cinchona seeds. The photograph was exhibited in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930, an exhibition hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The photograph was lent by the Bureau Tot Bevordering van Het Kinine-Gebruik [Bureau for the promotion of quinine use], Amsterdam and is listed as exhibit no. 9 in the souvenir catalogue.
