Description
Reproduction of the Rolls Park portrait of William Harvey (1578-1657). The M series register written in 1951, describes the reproduction as "Painting at Rolls Park, near Chigwell, Essex. Identified by Geoffrey Keynes as William Harvey and confirmed" in The portraiture of William Harvey London : Royal College of Surgeons of England, 1949, plate 3. The original portrait was "painted between 1620-1630 making it the earliest known portrait. Picture now in N.P.G." Related images: M0015721, M0015998
