Claim for reward for vaccination discovery

Dr. Edward Jenner's Claim. Statement for those Parliamentary friends who were expected to take the most active part in the Debate. Two drafts, in one of which the second half is by the hand of Charles Murray, afterwards Secretary to the National Vaccine Establishment: the other draft contains a few holograph corrections by Murray. Dr. Jenner came to London in May 1805 on matters 'relative both to his present affairs, and the progress of Vaccination' as Baron states in his 'Life' (Vol. II, p. 55). The question of a reward for his discovery was first brought before the House of Commons in 1802, and he was awarded £10,000. An extra £20,000 was voted to him by a Resolution of the House in 1807.
