Description

Reproduction of a stipple and line engraving of Sir John More (c.1451-1530), English lawyer and judge, by Edward Scriven, c.1816 after Hans Holbein and an engraving of Giulio Cesare Casseri (1552-1616( Italian anatomist. The original portrait by Holbein is held in the Pembroke Collection. The portraits are published in Osler, William, Sir: The evolution of modern medicine : a series of lectures delivered at Yale University on the Silliman Foundation, in April, 1913, New Haven : Yale University Press, 1921.

Please note that only the portrait of John Caius was digitised as part of the "M series" images. A digitised version of the portrait of Thomas Lineacre was digitised as image L0001747
