Description

Two images on one negative: the first is a photograph of a relief from the Tomb of Ty showing the reaping of wheat and driving of animals. The photograph was taken by Lehnert and Landrock, Cairo and purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point. It was accessioned in 1935 (accession number PHO 2816). The second image is a photograph of a relief found at the Botanical Garden of Thutmose III in the temple of Amun Re, Egypt. It was probably taken by Captain Johnston-Saint, a Wellcome Historical Medical Museum employee who travelled extensively in Europe, the Middle East and India purchasing items for the museum.
