Biographical note
The Group maintained relations with a number of international organisations, including the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA). In 1979 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Kenneth Baker MP was elected Chariman of the Steering Committee of the International Conference of Parliamentarians. He was also involved in convening a meeting in Washington under the auspices of the UNFPA, to discuss a possible follow-up conference.
In 1984 the Group also organised and hosted a two-day meeting for other European parliamentarians.
