About this work
Description
File contains 4 notebooks with the titles "Physics", "P1 - Magnetism and Electricity" and "P6 - Sound", all three signed on the front "J.R. Vane". Two of the notebooks date from 1944 and 1945. It is these dates that pinpoint these books to university rather than school.
Notebook 1, dated 1944, is titled "Physics", is numbered from page 140 to page 241 before continuing without numbering pages. It covers subjects such as, Coulomb's Laws, dielectrics, magnetism, photo-electricity, plasticity in metals, compressibility of liquids and viscosity.
Notebook 2, undated but covers "year 1" and "year 2", is titled "P1 - Magnetism and Electricity, is numbered from page 1 to page 143. The book is also marked "L. Sc VI" on the outside. It covers subjects such as, magnetism, the magnetometer, current electricity, the tangent galvanometer, the potentiometer, the chemical effects of a current, electrostatics, intensity of magnetisation, polarization, cells and elctromagnetic induction.
Notebook 3, undated, is titled "P6 - Sound", and its pages are not numbered. The book is also marked "L. Sc VI" on the outside. The brief notes cover only Meritol caustic developer.
Notebook 4, dated 1945, is titled "Physics - Dynamics", is numbered from page 1 to page 139. It covers subjects such as, vibrations, mutual inductance, the cathode ray oscillograph, dynamics, damped rotational motion and electricity.
